The Team

Mufit Cinali

Mr. Cinali is a strategy, transactions and investments executive with extensive senior leadership experience with both public and private companies. As a transformational leader, he has worked with a broad array of companies including high-growth technology firms to companies undergoing financial and operational turnarounds in Chapter 11 cases. He is a co-founder of Springwell Capital Partners.


Prior to Springwell, Mr. Cinali was the Corporate Vice President of Strategy and Business Development at Hughes Electronics where he led the strategic transformation of Hughes into an Americas-based services business. Before Hughes, Mr. Cinali spent four years as the VP of Mergers & Acquisitions at AT&T Corp. where he and his team successfully developed and executed over $90 billion in transactions including the divestitures of dozens of non-core businesses and the purchase of companies in the wire line, wireless, cable, broadband services and Internet sectors. Mr. Cinali also spent six years at GE Capital and completed several corporate mergers and acquisitions, equity investments, and leveraged financing transactions. Prior to GE Capital, he was at Bain & Co. as a strategy consultant and participated in a number of operational and strategic realignment of businesses.


Mr. Cinali has a BS/BA in Engineering and Economics from Brown University and an MBA with distinction from Harvard Business School.

Kun H. Lee

Mr. Lee has an extensive experience in private investment, strategy development and advisory both as an advisor and as a principal. He has been involved with companies of varying sizes and industries, ranging from mid-market U.S. firms to Global Fortune 100 companies.


Prior to Springwell, Mr. Lee was Director, Corporate Strategy for Hughes Electronics. While at Hughes, Mr. Lee was instrumental in developing turn around strategies for Hughes' international businesses and Hughes' consumer broadband and interactive video strategies. Before joining Hughes, Mr. Lee spent three years at GE Capital, where he was a Vice President, Business Development focused in identifying and developing new business opportunities. Prior to GE Capital, Mr. Lee was a manager for The Boston Consulting Group. While at BCG, Mr. Lee provided corporate strategy development, process re-engineering, post-merger integration, and turn-around strategic advice to companies in business services, telecommunications, technology, health care and specialty chemical industries.


Mr. Lee received a Master of Engineering and BS degrees from Cornell University and an MBA with distinction from Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.

Gardner L. Grant, Jr.

Mr. Grant has been involved in the international telecommunications industry for over 20 years as a lawyer, executive and restructuring specialist. As a restructuring specialist, he has served as Chief Restructuring Officer, independent director and advisor for both public and private companies including Cable & Wireless USA and Flag Telecom. In senior management positions, Mr. Grant has served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel of ICO Global Communications, where he played a key role in the cross-border restructuring of that company, and as Executive Director of Business Development for US WEST International, where he was responsible for development and acquisition of cable television and cellular telephone businesses in Europe and South America. Mr. Grant also served as Chief European Counsel for US WEST International, where he played a key role in the development of several major cable television and cellular telephone companies in the United Kingdom, Russia and Eastern Europe.


Mr. Grant is a graduate of Brown University and the University of Colorado School of Law, where he was awarded Order of the Coif.

William E. Barker

Mr. Barker has held the positions of President, Managing Director, Chief Marketing Officer, Chief Financial Officer as well as Chief Operating Officer in affiliation with or on behalf of Blackstone, Bank of America, Caisse de Depot, Continental Airlines, GE Capital, IBM, InvestCorp among others.

Mr. Barker has personally led acquisitions, innovation initiatives, private equity investments, project and venture capital investments, shareholder governance restructurings and strategic business development.

 

A co-founder of Springwell, Mr. Barker received an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and a BS (Engineering) from the United States Military Academy at West Point.
